Sweet and Beautifully illustrated

I especially loved Jay, his back story and how he is presented. I love that his story helped Herman, (coolest name for a fish) get his confidence. Loved all the little details like his suitcase, his tie. Looking forward to reading this to my students when they need some extra confidence.

Cute and Inspirational

A cute and inspirational story that children will enjoy reading. It teaches them in a way that they can understand the importance of self-esteem, perseverance, and the love of family. Never give up! Nicely done illustrations as well. Recommended.

Children will love this book. I do too!

This is such a sweet book with a great message. You can’t help but fall in love with little Herman who is brave and resilient in handling life’s “curves” that are tossed his way. I read it on Kindle but will buy the hardcover for my great niece. And I think her big brother will appreciate the message, too. The illustrations were lighthearted yet dynamic. Love them. This book has so many wonderful morals all rolled into one singular story!

I stumbled across this book from a friend and I instantly saw a little bit of myself in Herman. Always trying new things but afraid to return to the norm. It’s a heartwarming journey for Herman and the book has some valuable lessons about seeing yourself in others, overcoming your fears, finding joy in the new old. We’re excited to see where his next adventure takes him!

Fun & Inspiring

I thought this book was amazing and cleverly written. The beautiful illustrations perfectly capture the playful story, and the author’s unique approach to the storyline teaches a valuable lesson about courage and believing in yourself. I’d recommend this book. It’s fun & inspiring.

Cute and inspirational

My son and I both really enjoyed the cute story about Herman the fish. It is so cleverly written and with great humor. The illustrations are adorable and bring Herman to life further fueling kids imagination. Definitely a must-add to any child’s library!

Hits home even for adults
This was pretty fascinating and enjoyable for me because multiple times during the reading, I recalled specific instances in my life when I faced feelings very similar to Herman, like having anxiety about something that I have done successfully before, seeing someone else overcome an obstacle and then deciding if they can do it, I can do it. Also the theme of you can always go home. My take on the book is that we, like Herman, are just trying to navigate our way through life, and it is a never-ending story of being uncomfortable, being comfortable, being anxious, searching for safety, and trying to find the right energy and thought-processes to navigate through the maze. A positive attitude helps, and others will guide us along, as well. The illustrations neatly bring out the emotions of Herman and his journey.

What I particularly loved about this book is its underlying message about the importance of believing in oneself!
Valuable Life Skills
It’s a very charming story about Herman who overcomes his fear of water. This can act as a catalyst for a conversation with a young child about their own fears and how to overcome them. It’s a great opportunity to instill valuable life skills.
